Dear Stef,
Yesterday there was a nasty letter in my mailbox. It was written to all cat owners and started with (in bold letters) SHAME ON YOU and went on and on about cat owners not taking responsibility for their cats and all that their cats do. (Clearly these people do not own cats as they would then realise that cats are autonomous).
Anyway nasty, nasty letter all sorts of horrible things said INCLUDING a part where it complained that these superior (they did not use the word superior but it came through ) dog owners had to listen to the "randy goings-on of cats all night long".
Everybody in my complex is upset by this letter they have all made it clear they were not the authors (lots own cats anyway). The end result though is everybody is feeling upset by this mean letter.
So I thought I break it up a bit.
This is the letter I have written back and put in all the mailboxes in the surrounding area's.
Dear Dog Owners,
So terribly, terribly sorry about the noise from the cats 'randy goings on' all night long. I have a confession to make though. It isn't the cats, sorry. Really very, very sorry. I will close my windows in the future.
From
A Cat Owner who doesn't want her cats being blamed for something that is not them.

At The Airport
Dear Stef,
I spent some time at the airport this am. I heart the airport. Really I just love it. I could spend hours just sitting watching and the coffee is surprisingly very, very good.
I only cried twice. Once when the sister of a lady came out of the customs doors, her sister ran up the walkway and they threw their arms around each other, oh boy. The other was when the daughter came home. Then I sobbed, was very embarrassing.
Soon it will be you. I can't believe you are coming home *sniff*
I also can't believe you are going to Thailand. And that is not I can't believe you are ...... in a good way, it's the I think you in an idiot way.
Have saved all the Australian Ladette to Ladies for you.

Bronte
Dear Stef,
Was taken out for the simplest yet most beautiful breakfast at Bronte this am. We went to Tamarama first and the waves were amazing - even you would have been scared to go out on them.
Tis a different life there, there was an English women out for a walk in her pink pointy bra (was a bra not a top or anything else) we came across her twice, it was hot pink - she looked very out of place amongst all the golden oldies out for their morning surf and sun bake (now that is what I call a good retirement). So nice to be out in the sun and near the waves if only for a few hours.
When we move next it will be to the Northern Beaches (not that north Wendy or Stacey) but it will be Northern, love the idea of that lifestyle and being so close to the beach.
Or maybe Positano.

Trains
Dear Stef,
I forgot to tell you Amanda and I went to the Gift Fair again yesterday. We had to catch one of those little trains from the car park to the stadium. Had a slight mishap when I nearly fell out at 15kph as I hadn't shut the door properly, was very embarrassing.
Hope you had a good time in Glasgow. Oh bugger more stock arriving aahhhh!!!!

Sunday
Dear Stef,
Well I suppose no news is good news.
I have been doing a Wii workout everyday now, getting very fit and healthy. Rani still very upset each time I exercise, she likes to get in the way so she can attack my foot every time I put it near her, which can be a tad disconcerting and also annoying. I think she would like everybody to be a little butterball just like her.
And you.

Busy Again
Dear Stef,
I am very cross with you, very cross but we can discuss this another time.
Hey your lovely friend Maude (if I ever get another cat it's going to be called Maude) is up for one of those Oscar thingy's but the Australian one I am going to go and vote for her but only because I love her name - that's a good enough reason. I will get Stacey to vote too.
Very busy today, off to gift fair this afternoon Aunty Di is working for me.

Busy
Dear Stef,
Flat out unpacking Winter yesterday in shop. Was so lovely to talk to you yesterday on Skype - how funny was C, though I think her getting your doona to firstly show you and then throw at me was a bit too much.
I rang quite a few of my good customers yesterdays and the general consensus is that for a 'smart' child the schools are Lor*eto and Wen*ona, L out of question due to not being able to get in and W out for financial reasons. Everybody agreed Mont*e waste of money so that leaves us well - nowhere!! Selective schools really not a good idea for C, she would shrivel with her personality of having to be the best - can you imagine, they would be a disaster!!!
So... no idea what to do now, there are a few other school s but all private and all expensive AND her name isn't down. It was never this hard with you, you were far more of a straightforward child (till you turned 18 :-)
Let me know when your plans are finalised and if I have to get the tissues ready.

Concern
Dear Everybody that is concerned about Stef,
She is ok. I spoke to her last night for a long time and told her I had EVERYBODY ring me after they saw her Facebook.
Yes she is actually stuck in a small town in England. s.t.u.c.k. She has actually run out of money, they were ripped off by a nasty French lady (long story) and just had enough to get back to relative's of Tully in England.
Help is at hand. Stef's Aunt has offered her enough money to get out of her little pickle and back to London where she has to make a few wee decisions. I am unable to help her financially so she has no choice but to get a job or come home.
Love Stef's Mum xxxxx
PS Thank you for the concern Stacey no update on the school situation at this point she is going to go to the local high school and that would enable her to become well - not a lot!! Local high schools (another long story) don't get marked up in the HSC like the private schools thus making get a good mark in the HSC impossible unless you are genius smart which C is not. I am about ready to give up.
UPDATE Stef is back in London, Tully's relative very kindly bought them tickets.

Schools
Dear Stef,
Need you to put your thinking cap on. Had long conversation with teacher high up in Wen*ona on the phone this am as I can't get C into Lor*etto till YEAR 9!!! Teacher at W said their school has done incredibly well in the HSC for some years now, she made the school sounds so good, so perfect for C. Will have to talk to people. Teacher at W confirmed what Di said, OC not going to be good for C and selective schools require differnt cultural background so not good. Also as Di said all other children that get in have VERY pushy parents and C wouldn't do well where she is small fish brain in very big fish brain ocean.
Wen+ona out of the question financially so no idea what to do now. C can sit for scholoship but not sure if she is THAT smart, her name isn't even down. AGH!!!!!!
Back to drawing board, let me know what you think asap.

Coming Home
Dear Stef,
You can't come home yet C is still ensconced in your room and not ready to go back to her room and as much as I am dying to see you you need to stay longer, so fingers crossed you get a job.
I had a lady come into the shop today (older type) I showed her a cardigan and commented on it's prettiness, she said and I quote 'that's not a cardigan' WTF of course it was a cardigan but I just smiled sweetly and said 'ok'. Idiot.
You won't recognize C she has had a massive growth spurt, she is LOVING Sue and is doing really well, I am going to ring and get her booked into Loretto, it is the only school in the area now (apart from very expensive Wen*ona and SCE*GGS) that has a good academic record. It would be such a shame to see her go downhill in year 5 if she stays at LC. She now wants to be a DR or a scientist lol. You will be very relieved to know Mon*te still has bad reputation :-) I spoke to yet another mother the other day who has pulled her daughter out in Year 8. Out of the blue she is now talking about sitting for the OC test hopefully you can talk her out of that and talk her into Loretto, she is going to need the nurturing and the smaller classes - what you think???
C had a playdate the other day - wait for this when I picked her up the dad was walking around in his tight underwear, I nearly died!!!!! I just couldnt believe it, couldn't believe that he would do that in front of my daughter who he has never met before and infront of me who he has also never met before. Needless to say that is the last playdate she has with that child! Very awkard as he seems a sweet boy but that is just unacceptable AND revolting.
Off to bed,
